Terms of Use

This is a template for review. Have counsel review it before launch.

Using this site

This site belongs to Sugar in the Raw, a podcast and media brand out of Miami. You can browse it, read it, watch what we post, and reach out through our forms. In return, you agree to use it in good faith. Do not try to break it, scrape it, overload it, copy it wholesale, or use it to harass anyone. Do not upload anything unlawful, and do not pretend to be someone you are not. If you are using the site on behalf of a company, you are telling us you have the authority to do that.

You need to be old enough to enter into an agreement where you live to use this site or send us anything through it.

Our content and our name

The show, the episodes, the clips, the writing on this site, the photography, the logo, and the Sugar in the Raw name and look are ours or licensed to us. So is the footage we shoot in Miami and everything that comes out of it. They are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You do not get to take them and use them as your own.

You may share links to our pages and our clips the way any normal person shares a link. What you may not do, without written permission, is:

  • Copy, republish, or resell our content as if it were yours.
  • Use our name, logo, or look to suggest we endorse you, your product, or your event.
  • Edit our footage or audio in a way that changes what a person said or means.

What you send us

When you fill out a form on this site, whether it is an application to be a guest, a note through the contact form, or a partner inquiry, you are sending us information on purpose. By sending it, you give us permission to read it, store it, and act on it so we can respond to you and run the show. Keep what you send honest and accurate, and only send us your own information.

Do not send us confidential material or anything you are not free to share. If you send us an idea, a suggestion, or feedback about the show, we are free to use it without owing you anything for it.

Applying to be a guest

Filling out an application does not make you a guest. We read what comes in, and we reach out to the people who are the right fit. There is no promise, expressed or implied, that you will be selected, contacted, or booked, and there is no timeline. If we do move forward together, the actual terms of your appearance, including any release you sign, are handled separately.

Links to other places

Some links on this site point to other people's sites, including shows David has guested on. We do not run those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them or what they do with your information. Following a link off this site is on you, and their terms and privacy rules apply once you leave.

No guarantees

This site is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise it will always be online, error free, or up to date, and we do not promise the site is free of anything harmful. Nothing on this site is professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. This is a show where we ask people what makes them sad and let them answer honestly. When a guest talks about something heavy, treat it as one person's story, not guidance for your own life.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sugar in the Raw and the people behind it are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses that come out of your use of this site or anything you found on it. This does not take away any rights you have that cannot be waived under the law where you live.

Changes to these terms

The show is early and things will grow. We may update these terms as that happens. When we do, we will post the new version here. If you keep using the site after a change, that means you are good with the update. It is worth checking back now and then.

Reaching us

Questions about these terms go through the contact form. That is the way to reach us right now.
