Sugar in the Raw is a Miami podcast built on people telling the truth. That trust does not end when the camera stops. This policy explains, in plain language, how we handle the information you share through this website. No fine print games. If something here is unclear, reach out through one of the forms on the site and we will walk you through it.
What we collect
We only collect what you hand us or what a website normally records. That breaks down into two buckets.
Information you submit. When you fill out a form on this site, we receive what you type into it. That includes:
- The guest application: your name, email, phone, city, social links, your story, and how you answer what we ask, including the one question this show is built on.
- The partner form: your name, contact details, company, and what you are looking to do with us.
- The contact form: your name, email, and your message.
- The newsletter signup: your email address.
Basic analytics. Like most websites, we log basic technical information automatically. That can include your browser type, your device, rough location based on your IP address, the pages you visit, and how you got here. We use this to understand what is working, not to identify you personally.
How we use it
We use your information to run the show and to talk to you. Specifically:
- To review guest applications and decide who is a fit.
- To respond to partner and contact inquiries and follow up with you.
- To send updates and news if you asked to hear from us.
- To produce, market, and improve the show and this website.
We do not sell your information. Full stop.
How forms are handled
This site is hosted on Netlify, and our forms are processed through Netlify's form handling. When you submit a form, the information you entered is passed to and stored by Netlify so we can read and respond to it. Netlify processes that data under its own privacy and security terms. We only access what you sent us, and we use it for the reasons above.
Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site running smoothly and to measure traffic in aggregate. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies in your settings. Turning them off will not break the core parts of the site, though some features may work differently.
Third parties
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the show, such as our website host and any analytics or email tools we use. Those providers handle the data on our behalf and are expected to protect it. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. Beyond that, we keep your information to ourselves.
Your choices
You are in control of what you share with us. You can:
- Ask us what information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your information.
- Opt out of updates at any time.
Since we do not publish a public email address yet, the way to reach us for any of these requests is through the contact form. Tell us what you need and we will take care of it.
Keeping data safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share and to keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your story and your details with the same care we bring to the room when the mic is on.
Updates to this policy
As the show grows, this policy may change. When it does, we will update the date at the top of this page. Big changes will be reflected here, so it is worth a look now and then.
